5 10 2009Well Servolution 2009 is finally here. After months of prayer, planning and meetings we have finally made it. We will spend the next 7 days displaying an invisible God in visible ways. How awesome is that! Jesus is the head and we are His body. We get the incredible privilege of being Jesus’ hands, feet and mouth to those in our community.
God says as we lift him up, He will draw men to Himself. That is our prayer. May many people be drawn to Jesus through our actions of love!

1 10 20093 Days and counting till Servolution 2009. Are you excited? Many people have been asking what we will be doing over the seven days. So here is our 2009 Servolution Schedule (changes may be made if needed):
Sunday
- 9am, 10:30am, & 11am – Church (all welcome)
- 6pm Spirit Night @ OSC Eunice (all welcome)
- Make Care Packages For Jennings Hospital Staff (individual basis)
Monday
- 7am – Deliver Care Packages To Jennings Elementary (Care Package Team)
- 5:30pm – 8pm Jennings Elementary Upgrade @ JES (all welcome)
- Make Care Packages For Jennings Hospital Staff (individual basis)
Tuesday
- Deadline to donate Food or Uniforms
- 7am - Deliver Care Packages To Jennings Elementary (Care Package Team)
- 5:30pm – 8pm Jennings Elementary Upgrade @ JES (all welcome)
- Make Care Packages For Jennings Hospital Staff (individual basis)
Wednesday
- 7am - Deliver Care Packages To Jennings Elementary (Care Package Team)

- 10am – 4pm SERVOLUTION (Car Wash, City Clean Up, JES Upgrade, & Food)
- Night – Deliver Care Packages To Jennings Hospital

24 09 2009**If you would like give big to Servolution, here are the items we are currently gathering:
Food Drive
- Non-Perishable Food (Canned Goods, Boxed Foods, Canned Juices)
- Toilet Paper
- Paper Towels
- Cleaning Supplies
- Detergent
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Deodorant
Care Packages
- Baked goods (Cookies, brownies, bars, mints, candies, etc…)

2009 Outreaches
23 09 2009Our outreaches for this year’s Servolution has been finalized. Here are the 6 outreaches we will doing over the course of October 4-10.
- FREE CAR WASH – Youth groups will partner together to give free car washes to the community
- FREE HAIR CUTS – Hair Dressers will serve the community by providing free haircuts.
- CITY CLEAN UP & BEAUTIFICATION – Removing trash from streets, cleaning street signs, replacing old street signs with new signs, mowing & cleaning yards of widows & elderly, and planting trees.
- FOOD & UNIFORM DRIVE – Gathering non-perishable food and school uniforms which will be given to families in need. This outreach will NOT be open to all of the Jennings community. If you would like to donate non-perishable food and school uniforms items, you can drop them off at any of our OSC campuses or any participating churches. Donation deadline is Tuesday, October 6.
- JENNING ELEMENTARY UPGRADE – Updating the schools appearance by painting, building & installing handicap ramps, etc…
- CARE PACKAGES – Collect, bake, and organize goodie bags for the faculty and staff of Jennings Elementary and Jennings Hospital.

Servolution 2009
24 07 2009Mark your calendar for October 4-10 for Servolution 2009. Hundreds of volunteers filled with a heart of love will unleash random acts of kindness on the city of Jennings. Much more information will be posted in the coming weeks. Feel free to browse the site and see what awesome things we did last year.

YOU GOT SERVED!
29 07 2008If you were one of the 150+ volunteers that came out to Servolution on Saturday then you got to see first-hand how many lives were touched. If you didn’t make it out, here’s what you missed: 2500+ bottles of water, 200 burgers, 100 bags of groceries, 300+ families clothed, 10+ yards cleaned, curbs painted, 60+ cars washed, and too many other items to mention.
This is what else we did: prayed for people, offered hope, fed the hungry, healed the sick, visited widows, played with orphans, united churches, shared the Gospel, cleaned neighborhoods, remembered the forgotten and demonstrated Jesus-style serving. Hundreds of volunteers reached out and touched thousands of lives. Our mission was to share the love of Christ is practical ways with ONE heart, as ONE church, for ONE city, on ONE day and that is what we did!
Servolution was a great day, but it’s just the beginning. We have the ability to make every day Servolution in our own lives. We don’t need 2500 bottles of water; we can start with one bottled offered to a co-worker. We can pay for a stranger’s coffee, invite a new friend to dinner, cut the neighbor’s yard while we’re cutting our own. There are dozens of opportunities to show the love of Jesus every day…we just need to watch for them. Serving others doesn’t have to be an outreach; it can be a lifestyle. Let’s live it!

IT IS HERE!
25 07 2008We are T-minus 10 hours and counting, and we are ready! Thank you to the dozens of people who have sacrificed their time and energy this week to pull off the biggest serving day in the history of this city. All week volunteers have been flooding our campus sorting clothes, bagging food, making banners, passing out flyers, calling volunteers, cutting cards, donating money, and most of all fasting & praying. We know God’s hand has been on this project since the beginning. Tomorrow the love of Jesus will be unleashed on a city like never before, and churches will partner together like never before. May God give each volunteer divine encounters with the hurting, lost, broken, forgotten, abandoned, abused, neglected, needy…
MAY THE SMILE OF GOD BE ON JENNINGS TOMORROW!

5 DAY COUNTDOWN
21 07 2008Wow! time has flown by. I remember when Servolution was just a thought and here we are 5 days until the revolutionary love of Jesus is unleashed on the city of Jennings through practical services. Today the Servolution leadership team is starting a media fast which means no tv, no electronics, no internet “except to checkout servolutionla.com, of course”! We encourage you to participate with us to seek the heart of God. If you have not registered yet it is not too late. Today is our final day to place orders for shirts, so if you want a shirt make sure to register today. Here a couple quick updates on each outreach:
City Clean Up
// We will be cleaning up the house on Cutting (past Piggly Wiggly) that burnt down a couple months ago.
// We will also be assisting a house on 3rd Street that does not have running water.
// Also some pre-selected neighborhoods will be getting their streets and homes cleaned.
// Tools needed: gloves, lawn care equipment, shovels, rakes, etc…
Bottle Water Giveaway
// For $4 you can donate a case of water and impact 32 lives!
// Bring all donations to Our Savior’s Church Office
// Items needed: ice chests, trucks, ice, more bottled water
Food & Clothing Drive
// This team will be meeting at 6:30am at the old Ward Elementary to set up
// Flyers are available at the OSC offices to be passed out around town
// Food & Clothing Giveaway will be from 12pm – 3pm
// Bring all donations to Our Savior’s Church Office
