THE MOST DANGEROUS PRAYER

25 06 2008

Do you truly want to make a difference in this world? Do you want generations to be different because you knew Christ? Do you want to lead a church that will impact your city, state, and the world?

Then the most dangerous pray we can pray is: “God, please break me.”

He will. And when He does, you’ll be ruined—in the best sort of way.
•    Your heart will ache for those without Christ.
•    You’ll despise spiritual complacency.
•    You’ll see the darkness of your heart clearly.
•    You’ll be bothered deeply by things you used to easily overlook.
•    You’ll cry often and easily.
•    You’ll know Jesus more

Have you prayed that prayer? If so, how did he break you for the better? Share your thoughts.

“Break us… Oh, Lord! Break us!”

There is a Bishop from Zimbabwai, Tudor Bismark, he says that we pray to God, “God, please break me” and then we must look at the enemy and say, “You will never break me”. In other words we must allow God to break us, but resist the enemy breaking us and we must be wise enough to know the difference…

loving God @ OSC

I have been praying for God to break me, and make me a better wife. My time has come and he is doing it slowly. Breaking away the pride, control, sefishness, & anger. I am finally realizing after years of marriage that I am here to be my husbands helper. My life should fit right into his. I am his helper, he is not mine. When God seen that Adam was alone, he said “I will make a suitable HELPER for you”. He did not say I will make a suitable partner, he said helper. That is his words. To be a helper means to “supply what is needed”. I am here in this marriage to supply his every need. Even when I don’t feel like it and even if I don’t feel that he has supplied my every need. It is not easy or fun, but I am so excited and thankful that God loves me enough to break off this selfishness and teach me new things.
